McLaren MP4/2 Protar

Post by SBEST »

Guys, I have the McLaren MP4/2C in 1/12th.

I am looking for ideas on replacing the tires and wheels.

Any thoughts....

JamesB makes replacement resin tire/wheel combinations for this kit under the El Oso work that he does. I have them and they are fantastic. Give him a shout.

If you have the white metal monocoque version, rubber tires would be pretty much out of the question anyway in my opinion so resin is a good way to go.

Best,

That's probably thotoughly eplained smewhere in the forum.
Basicly:
Tyres: wong size in general, plus fronts are 15 nches instead of 13. Rasised letter, besidees tyres can melt or crack.
Rims: bad fronts size, plus they DO melt in contact with "rubber"
That's it! :D
