It's me, I didn't understood correctly your post. In fact, you said that in the Protar kit, the front tyres are too small (13'') and you mold bigger tyres (15"). Is that right ?
Nope, just the opposite! see following....
AJP01 wrote:I believe James is saying that the kit has 15" fronts, while his replacements are molded at 13" front and rear - which is how the photos depict the car.
Best,
AJ
Exactly! Thanks, Alan! :D
Besides, the rears on the Protar are quite "balloon" shaped, much like 312T, which are the same.
daves wrote:I built this kit many years ago. The tires are still in great shape. Maybe it is the perfect Hawaiian weather and keeping it enclosed in a case. It is good to know that there are wheels and tires available, just in case.
Dave
Yep Dave, besides your build is sooo nice that who cares about tyres! After all the fact that rims are also black disguise the Protar's unaccuracies. But surely the car benefits from better and accurate stuff.
I am already making the moulds. So on top of that, my apollogies to quite a few that are waiting for me to d it. They know!
Yes Steve M. I count also on you! :D
More news soon, thanks for the interest

James
PS: since I have a few of these (both Mac and 126C2) I can tell that rims d melt, though there might be factors that prevent that. Tyres cracked, I had this rarely. I think the key factor still is accuracy. Such a rare, nice (expensive!!) model of such a nice subject deserves good wheels.

Pics explain well the rim split, with the inner half being fussioned or merged with the tyre.

James, maybe I missed something - could you please attach pics to this Thread (of your "Round Beauties") so we can all see what you are making / selling - so we can make your rich with our Dollars, Pesos, Pounds, Euros, Yen, Rubles, etc...!
Thanx, Kirk

PS: yes, I see you added attachment pics (But for some reason, I can't see them!)...
