I got the plastic version long ago after watching the pictures from the metal one. But I decided to get the metal engine and use the plastic one as a display instead. Speaking of which, 1:20 Studio 27's Deluxe Full Metal version of the same model is also a handful too! Protar did not have a good reputation with fits and other issues as Tamiya or other Japanese makers so I opt for the slightly easier material like other modelers from this site.

Yes, I really doubt there's one single good reason to make er... almost ANY part in white metal.
Just the ones that really have advantages. But what's the point of having a model weighing 2 Kg (and I even think it might be more, a 1/43 already weighs 0,3 or 0,4 Kg) while, in true scale, the 1/12 MAc should be just 312 grams!
ANyway, we are discouraging our friend :D Come on, have it a go!!!!! :)

Hi guys,
I've weighed it. The actual wt is 1 kg compared to the plastic 1:12 Williams at 378 grams. Mine came with metal engine & gearbox, so it is actually a handful especially when the metal is all lumpy & uneven. May need to get car body panel filler for a proper job.
BTW, James I've PM ed you for my tires requirements.
Cheers
Lee

Yes, Lee, you have a pm too! :D
BTW, I think it would not be too hard to cast the upper face of radiators so you can have a decent thing. Please see if that would fix most of the problem.
1Kg! Thought it'd be much more. I supose that the fact of being (probably?) zamak instead of white metal, helps.
Come on, be brave!!!

I wonder whether you have any suggestions on how to scratch build another set of radiators & also where can I get another set of tires?

Cheers
