St. Martins London

Post by Mario1fan »

Visited London recently and came across this little shop for diecast. Well stocked and great service. Bought a 1/43 Gulf GT 40 1968 winner along with a mini-Mario helmet. Long discussion on the 2017 Indy 500! Neat place! St. Martins, 15 Cecil Court, London

And I remember when they sold Model kits as well.
Did you visit the Motorsport Book Shop nearby too???

St Martins Models moved from its old position on St Martins Lane and is now much smaller than it was, with (as far as I know) no plastic kits at all any more.

The book shop, I believe, has now closed, but they still have a large web presence:

Oh well genx... as Echo and the Bunnymen used to say, " Nothing ever lasts forever." :(
Thanks for the update, I knew St Martins Model no longer sold kits, but the other info, I didn't.
Been quite awhile since I ventured into the inner sanctums of... London  about the same
time as you lived near Tunbridge Wells.

No kits were noticed. As mentioned, not a big shop. Loved the service none the less. Will look at the book site.

AFAIK there is no connection between the new shop and the old one - which had been around since 1969. The new St. Martins Models is actually run by Grand Prix Legends.
