Just FYI, that is NOT an accurate version of the British GP car. It had an extra fuel tank ahead of the windscreen. This updated kit doesn't have the necessary mods. As I said when I released my German GP decals for the MS11 kit, the German GP version is the only car you can build from the Matra MS11 kit (without modifications) that actually raced in a Grand Prix.

I don't know if it's been mentioned (I didn't see it), but Scalemates is showing that Italeri is re-releasing the Protar Mercedes 196 (1954-55), which is good timing as I'm exploring the possibility of doing something special for that kit.

Oh well it certainly deserves/need something quite special, Michael. BTW, you owe me a pm

The Protar W196 is quite horrible. The body shape is not very correct. The tires are of wrong size and tread. There is no engine. It will need almost everything to make it a decent looking W196.

Yes, it's a crappy kit... but when I get done with it, it will be a slightly less crappy kit.

Try Hobby Search: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10563037

I am loyal to HLJ but since they redid their website, they do a terrible job promoting new racing car kits. They must be losing some sales, I know I have bought elsewhere when I could not find a new kit at HLJ in time to put in an order.
