Here is a picture of the monocoque front, note how the cover would fit, I think all fw14b’s had the camel yellow paint overlap the top of the monocoque this way and maybe that’s why Tamiya did their cover the way they did. From the side it would look like there was a step in the monocoque near the bullhorns.willster127 wrote:I laser scanned the front of the monocoque at work today and am going to look at a 3D printed replacement for the front of the tub and the shock cover for my kit.
I'll keep you all in the loop with it and maybe it will end up in my shapeways store if it turns out nice!

This picture illustrates the true shape of the rearmost part of the monocoque side.
Re: Finally FW14B detail set
Thx for posting the front end, have a lot of detail pics, but no overall look. Paul was obviously so impressed to get real close pics that he forgot an overall view

Re: Finally FW14B detail set
Hi everyone, I received my detail set today, here are a few pictures. I’m impressed with the quality of the castings but as I thought, they missed the electronic box in the front recessed panel.

Looks great!
Where did you order it? Most european shops offer only Pre-orders and don`t have it in stock actually.

Hi,
I ordered it from HobbyEasy as soon as the photos of the set were shown. They shipped it last Monday and it arrived in a week.
I ordered the first set from them too and it was around £48 plus £5.50 postage (£68.99 from Hiroboy) the second set was £47 and £5.50 postage(£52.99 from Hiroboy).

Re: Finally FW14B detail set
I suspect there will be upgrades for the motor and radiator/firewall in the future?
Re: Finally FW14B detail set
Like the MP 4/6, I'm sure they'll have the engine covered, side pods, shafts, brakes, then they'll combine the smaller kits into a single kit, which is what I'm probably going to wait for.
