You are right. Also the 1970 Gold Leaf Lotus 72 is on "our list".

There must be a DFV expert on this site who can pick out some distinguishing features of that particular engine and what year it might be, no? Like the spark box and distributor configuration or something like that? I manipulated the image on Photoscape and lightened it up and it's much easier to see the details. :D :D :D

Cheers,
Greg

The trumpets were often joined together along the top on later cars like FW07/BT49. Those brackets on the front of the cam covers look as though they are the triangular shaped mounts that locate to the chassis not to a radius arm. T006 located top radius arm to the chassis not to the engine over a triangular mount. Serious chance of a Tyrrell 006 in my opinion - until the next picture proves me wrong. Again...

Could it be a DFY from the 1987/1989 era?

Based on the second Allen holding the cam cover on it is a Lotus 49B Monaco version...

None so far with this photo. Side views(particularly right side) may yield more info if they are forthcoming.
Besides, you may also be making the assumption that this engine is representative of the vintage and type of car?
Cheers
