Re: September MFH 1/12 full-detail news
Are those a pair of goggles? If so they certainly point to late-60's period and might indicate that MFH are including a driver figure?? Rear Shock Absorber looks very like Lotus 49B. Red might be a clue too. MFH have already issued the Lotus 49 and so if it sold well, I guess the Lotus 49B would have to be a logical choice.
Saw Adrian Newey with his pristine, rebuilt, Lotus 49B at the weekend at Carfest South. His version has the low rear wing over the gearbox with two canards at the front. My photos show that the metering unit on his engine sits in front of the front left inlet trumpet, not behind it as in the first photo on the MFH website. Maybe it was sited in different places at various points??
Adrian was interviewed at some length and said that building Tamiya's Lotus 49 kit at the age of 12 inspired his entire career. I couldn't afford that kit until I was in my 20s!!!

I would think that is the top wisebone made from tubing as on the Lotus 49, also single pot caliper would suggest this era, it also looks like the steering connect along the centerline of the hub.Hugeprong wrote:Are those a pair of goggles? !!!

Hiro have just put up another image. There should be enough for one of our the resident experts to recognise what the car is now.

Yes - it must be a 49B . (MUST-HAVE). It is the worst F1 kit done by Tamiya. Full of mistakes .

Allan, Now I have to pull my hair out deciding which one of the 3 to choose! If the Monaco version is made
available, I might do that one - even though Hill crashed that one (I think?) - hmmm, maybe not....
I do like the double High Wing version though...I guess we will see.
Thanx again Hiro-San!, Querque

Thankfully not a must have for me; though i'm sure it will be an interesting kit. I amazes me on how MFH can continue to crank out these expensive high quality 1:12 th scale kits and no other model kit manufacturer can see the opportunity..................
