An Ebbro Toro Rosso Honda would be cool, picking up from the MP4/30 and MP4/31. I can see a Red Bull Honda being made by Tamiya or Ebbro, but we might need to wait for the 2020 thread :) I wonder if we'll see anything new from Fujimi?

Licenses these days are scale & subject specific. As far as I know this started years ago with Hot Wheels and Ferrari. Hot Wheels would lock up certain scales, locking out other better manufactures. It could be the simple fact that Studio 27 beat them to the 1/24th scale license. Probably the same reason that it is not the LeMans version of the Ford GT. Because Revell already has that license.

I remember when the Hot Wheels 'exclusive' licensing deal happened. I called a number of F1 teams (and actually got through to a few) and they did not seem to understand the difference between a diecast and scale model.

No mention of Toyota anywhere.
Yep. Whatever the issue is with Tamiya, it has nothing to do with the S27 kit, because there is 0% chance it's actually licensed. Most obviously, if S27 actually had a license to produce the Toyota, they would have released it under their own brand name, not some one-off throwaway name that nobody has ever heard of. Like, we all know it's a S27 kit, but legally, 'oh, no, it has nothing to do with us!', and the only reason to do that is if you're selling something you're not legally allowed to sell.

Just like Tameo and Red Bull.

Maybe they don't think a kit would sell. Maybe they're waiting. Maybe Hot Wheels or someone already has a license for 'scale miniatures'. But there's no way that Tamiya has been shut out by S27.
Je ne regrette rien.
