PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
Re: PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
I would think that a racing version of the McLaren F1 GTR would sell well, and think of all the reboxings that could be done with different decals?

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
If Toyota wins Le Mans, do you think we would ever get a detail model of the TS-030 in 1/24?
Re: PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
Tamiya seems to have a good relationship with Toyota, so a Toyota LeMans winner in 1/24 would seem to be a good possibility.

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
Just pre-ordered my McLaren F1 at HLJ. While there, I noticed they also have listed for future release, all 1/20 by Fujimi:
McLaren MP4/6, Brazilian GP
Ferrari F150 Italia, Japanese GP
McLaren MP4-27, Australian GP, with driver figure (but doesn't say which driver)

Some say he believes Star Wars is a documentary...

At the Japanese HLJ site, it says the MP4/27 will be:Obi-Jiff wrote:... at HLJ ... future release, all 1/20 by Fujimi:
"McLaren's 2012 F1 machine.
A reproduction of Jenson Button's winner in the first Australian GP.
Comes with a pre-painted, resin driver figure."

And in June, Fujimi will release a 1/20 go-cart based on -- a manga comic..?! What? A go-cart as drawn by manga artist Masahito Soda, and driven by an imaginary comic hero, Kappeta Taira (Capeta)?? That has me scratching my head... I might consider it, if it was based on a real go-cart...

Also perhaps interesting -- does anyone know what Acu-Stion's up-coming "Glass stop catchpin set" can be used for? What would you glue them on..?

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
The Manga kit will be the '93 Senna kart, probably a new helmet, *maybe* some new bodywork. More or less real, decent enough starting point to model a generic go-kart if you so desire.
Actually, it'd be kinda fun to model a particular year's grid, in go-kart form, along the lines of that kart-racing F1 video game.

Je ne regrette rien.

Looks like a set of generic windshield retainers to me. Detail Master has a similar product called windshield clips.Eagle50 wrote:Also perhaps interesting -- does anyone know what Acu-Stion's up-coming "Glass stop catchpin set" can be used for? What would you glue them on..?

You can find those on many closed-wheel competition cars, either because of the regulation or safety precaution.

Thanks for the clarification, Chris; I've gone ahead and ordered one.Eagle50 wrote:At the Japanese HLJ site, it says the MP4/27 will be:

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming Releases 2013
Very curious ways of japanese slang... "capeta" is a very old meaning of "devil" in portuguese, also is an old slang for "very smart, fearless and skilled person". Used to tag really crazy racing drivers until the 60's.Eagle50 wrote: And in June, Fujimi will release a 1/20 go-cart based on -- a manga comic..?! What?
