So about 7 years after I started it, I've finally got around to finishing this one! Not the easiest of kits when you deviate from the instructions, but I think it turned out OK.

A couple of things went wrong along the way - there was some slight yellowing in the lacquer over the white areas. I stripped those parts back and redid them, but it happened again. No idea why, but it's not too bad. It happened immediately, and has not changed after 6.5 years, so assume that's fairly stable now. I heard some cracking sounds when attaching the front pushrods (very awkward job) - couldn't see what caused it at the time, but realised that I'd pulled out one of the lower wishbone arms when I was fitting the wheels right at the end. Easy enough to fix, but the front suspension is not quite even (actually not related to this!) And the left nose cam ended up at a strange angle. Didn't want to risk damaging the clear by removing it though so decided to leave it as-is. I think the rest of it I'm pretty happy with!

I have the F2007 in my stash... which I'm not going to touch for quite a while after this one!

So here are my not very professional photos :)

Hi,

Time spent on a model doesn’t matter!
Great result!

Looks great! These Fujimi kits are always quite tough, i ended up with an F2003 earlier this year that I have only the front wing and tires on display in my cabinet. The rear body work would not fit on the car at all even after trying for a few weeks, so decided to just put it in my spares box and display what looked good.

I would say the model and the photos turned out good!
6,5 years is a long time, but it was definitely worth it.

Sometimes you just need a little distance from a model so that things can really go on again.

Great job but definitely! :D

Excellent job! I really thought it was a showroom photo of the real car in the first pic. 8) I'm glad you came back to this one and finished it, it was worth it.

Having just finished a Fujimi F2007 I hope you tackle that one soon too. It definitely has some headaches but overall it wasn't toooo bad. And that color! 8)

Thanks everyone :)

I was having a look at the F2007 last night - they definitely resolved some of the design issues from this kit, so hopefully it won't be too bad. A couple of tricky looking areas still, but that's half the fun, right? :) But I think I will go with something older for my next one - probably the Lotus 79. But I also have a USS Missouri to finish. Will probably split between the two for a while.
