A masterpiece!

The tools add another realism to the picture.

Lovely work! :D I particularly appreciate the subtle weathering on this kit, cars of this era were never endlessly polished like their modern counterparts.

WOW!

What a beautiful model! You're telling us this OOB? (with added rivets) add an extra "wow" or two to my comment above :).
I really love it. The paintjob makes it look period, unlike the modern day concourse restorations. Oh and what jumped into my eye right away were the tires. They are absolutely perfect. Texture, colour, they have the look of real tires instead of scale tires.
Cheers,
Roman

wow, impressive build & very realistic looking.
I also like the extra's like the toolbox, wrenches, oil cans with logo etc.

Apart from that: open wrenches are the last type of tools you'd want to use (apart from the adjustable wrench which is a no go except if you want to use it as a hammerlike tool) as they intend to damage bolt/nut easily. If available & accesible, you'd go for socket wrenches (6 side preferably) or box ends. Would they have been available @ the time the car was racing?

Box wrenches (spanners) go back to at least as far as the 19th century.
