1/20 Tamiya Leyton House CG901B
Having gotten back into this hobby a little over a year and a half ago, and really enjoying the stress relief and overall "building something" aspect... here is my best kit to date. I looked for this kit for quite some time and found one for a really cheap price off ebay. Had to order replacement decals from Indycal.net, and they worked out great. They're a little thicker than I was used to so have a couple of cracks as I didn't soften them enough, but they are great decals.
After seeing a couple of builds (mostly wadny's beautiful build) on here I decided to try mine, although I am no where near the level of most on here - I really enjoyed this one and it came out about to my abilities.
I added a lot of CF decal and wished after the fact that I had bought the Studio 27 set as making templates for all that I did was very time consuming, but satisfied with the outcome.
Decanted Tamiya Coral Blue, amongst other colors.
Tamiya and Alclad paints used, along with SCM carbon fiber decal in a few different colors and scales.
Thanks for looking, and I have a build thread on another modeling site, but doubt you would learn anything from me as it's mostly my struggles and progress.

Thanks guys!! Appreciate it!vekkuli wrote:Very nicely done Holy Grail .
And yes, I see the rear wing looks that it has a bit of lean to it - and it does, it's a bit exacerbated in the pics though.
t's not near that bad, but does lean a tad - when I test fit it I was holding it on so it didn't fall off and I guess I didn't realize that.
Learning stuff every kit I do.
Thanks for looking in guys!

Nice job! Maybe this will give me a kick to finish mine. The Studio 27 CF decals certainly made things easier, but your CF work looks nice.

Hope so, can't wait to see what your Leyton House F1 ends up looking like - it's already so beautiful.wadny wrote:Nice job! Maybe this will give me a kick to finish mine. The Studio 27 CF decals certainly made things easier, but your CF work looks nice.
Have a few wrinkles in the CF here and there, but overall not too bad for me - just need to be more patient with it.
And yes, having the templates already would've been helpful. . . next time.
