Triple Ground Effects Builds
Hi,
Here are the pics of the last of my 4 Lockdown builds (March to May), the Williams FW07. This kit was completed when it was released & refurbished with a new paint job & decals. Added "Frank" beside it & have yet to re decal Clay's helmet.
The Lotus 78 & Ligier JS11 were started in June & were just clear coated a couple of days ago before the air brush & compressor were boxed.
After taking these pics, the FW07 & my stash are all boxed up for the 8,200 km journey out of Africa as I've been laid off after my 17 years of African Adventures with 3 companies in Tanzania & Rwanda. The other 2 will remain for me to work on until my flight back & during quarantine period.
The bright side is that I'll get more time to complete my stash.
2020 is certainly a weird year.
Cheers
Lee

Hi Lee,
They are all very nicely built F1 models of an era that has so much creative ideas.

Re: Triple Ground Effects Builds
I like the Williams, I love these little dioramas.
I also think the replica of the street is great - is that self-made?
If so, how do you do it exactly?

Re: Triple Ground Effects Builds
Very good looking. The Ligier and the Lotii may well be the first Cars in the making photographed in completed Section .

Re: Triple Ground Effects Builds
This one was painted on a block of sample wood. The tarmac is fine sand & the concrete painted directly on the wood.steinietrabi wrote:I like the Williams, I love these little dioramas.

The other one in the pic is the base of the display case. This is the improved version painted on a piece of plastic sheet with concrete textured by dragging coarse sandpaper along it & tarmac in fine sand again. The expansion joints are scribbled lines filled with superglue.
Hope the above helps.

Re: Triple Ground Effects Builds
Thanks guys for the kind comments.
Yes , the Ligier is Tamiya's & I've forgotten this is the Completed Section as mentioned by Vekkuli.
BTW, Mike, my next adventure will be adapting to living back home in a heavily populated country in this COVID 19 pandemic.
Cheers
