1/20 Lotus 102
Here is my Lotus 102 as raced in 1990. It is a heavily modded Tamiya 102B and the work is detailed in a separate WIP.
Thanks for looking...

Awesome. I have a 102B ready (back to my home in China) to be butchered to get something out of it that will look like a 102! Yours is just perfect I love it.

Always loved the Camel Livery. Nice work on this conversion. I think you are just about ready to do a complete scratch build of something!!!

Re: 1/20 Lotus 102
Thanks Derek. I really enjoyed making this car. It was the first Grand Prix car I ever heard for real, warming up it's engine in the pit lane. Similarly the Jordan I've finished is based on one i photographed down the pit lane in 1991 so both have a significance for me. They haven't all just been finished, been a process of finishing them since the start of the year, I've only just had enough time to get pictures uploaded onto here.

Re: 1/20 Lotus 102
Unless you use the 102 transkit released a few years ago, this is a very difficult modification.
You have done a great job on this car.
I also like your driver choice. Derek Warwick is one of those drivers who somehow always ended up at the wrong Team at the wrong time. In my opinion he deserved to win at least one Grand Prix.

Re: 1/20 Lotus 102
Thanks Steffen. My car was all modded purely by eye so I'm sure it's a long way from accurate but I like it. I wish I had placed the Camel decal higher up on the rear wing, that bugs me a bit.
I agree about Warwick, I'd have added his crash helmet to my car if I could. Always liked his colours.

Hi all,
Now there's a not-often-seen conversion I'd like to tackle sometime. I assume the aftermarket decals are Studio 27?
Very nice work shown here Daveyman. I always felt Derek Warwick was worthy of more recognition throughout his career.
Cheers, Paul

Re: 1/20 Lotus 102
Hi Dave, is the decal of "Martin Donnelly" included in the S27 decal set?

Yes, Donnelly and, I believe, Johnny Herbert. I still have the additional energy drink sponsors for the car that you asked about. If you want them and can't get a full sheet I could post them to you...
