Fujimi Ferrari F2007 1/20
It's finally done!
WIP: https://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=30942
I tried not too go too crazy on this one so I could finish it in a reasonable amount of time. It still ended up taking 2.5+ months. I did not use any CF decals, just flat black, black metallic, and grey metallic metal flake paint painted with heavy brush strokes to simulate CF weave. I also did not use a clear coat or do any sanding/polishing of the paint (not really possible on this complicated shape).
The paint was two step, first Tamiya TS-88 Titanium Silver and then Tamiya TS-74 Clear Red. It is really a cool combination. It looks very different depending on the light you are in (as you can see in the photos).
Assembly was OK. It's definitely not a Tamiya kit. The engine cowling mostly fit (right side only is glued down) when complete but I was extremely careful during painting and assembly. The rear wing was difficult and mine ended up not quite straight. For an experienced modeller the kit is very doable.
Add-ons:
-MFH seatbelt set
-TABU "Bar-code" decals
-scratch built radio antenna
-Indycals tire decals after I screwed up the kit decals
With 312/67 & F189

Congratulations!
What a beautiful F2007. I especially like the top view with the white background. It really looks like a 1:1 car.

Great job on it, can`t believe it is a Fujimi kit! Well done!
Take a stand!

That is an absolutely stunning build, so much so it's made me get my copy of the kit out.
Do you think it would be possible to build and glue the bodyshell up and fit the gearbox/ radiators afterwards ?

Re: Fujimi Ferrari F2007 1/20
Thanks for the comments guys!
I don't think you'd be able to glue the whole body together and fit anything in. It's a really tight fit and the rear suspension (which is part of the gearbox) wouldn't fit in because of the holes you'd close up when you glued all the body work together.
I taped all the bodywork together for painting which kept the crucial body work joints from filling with paint and no longer fitting.
Good luck and hope to see your's in a WIP soon!
Thanks!CK wrote:Congratulations!

Thanks! Haha, this must be one of the better Fujimi kits.gp-models wrote:Great job on it, can`t believe it is a Fujimi kit! Well done!
Well, I did actually glue the front body scoops to the cockpit first and then after painting the body insert the radiators. That was backwards from the directions and I don't recommend it, you could really easily break something. I did it for painting reasons but it was really not necessary.gazer117 wrote:That is an absolutely stunning build, so much so it's made me get my copy of the kit out.
