Tamiya Brabham BT50
Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum, however not so new to the art of model building - having been introduced to the hobby in 1985 as an impressionable young teenager, and have been building them ever since when I get the time.
I build Formula One cars mainly, however early sportscars, Group C and Group B rally monsters also get a run.
I have been taking a look at all of your models (which are all of an exceptional high standard ), so its only fair that I let you critique mine.
This is a couple of years old now, and I am very happy with it. It is certainly a bit better than my first attempt at it all of those years ago.
Tamiya 1/20 Brabham BT50. Tamiya TS55 (Dark Blue) and TS26 (Pure White) body colors. Yep I am a rattle can man - old skool
Scratch built plug rail. Alclad for the exhausts. Shunko decals.
I hope you like it and find it worthy!
Cheers.
Tim

Welcome! What a great way to introduce yourself. Excellent model. The engine detailing is very realistic, especially the turbo & exhaust.

Re: Tamiya Brabham BT50
Thanks guys for all of your positive comments! Most appreciated.
Jordan 2.0 - The Shunko decals where faultless, and perfectly opaque with no bleed through whatsoever. Unlike the Tamiya decals where the blue panels are decals, Shunko supply only the the blue/white pinstriping which meant some very careful and accurate masking was required for the blue panels.

Re: Tamiya Brabham BT50
Hi
Congratulations on a very finely made Brabham. I like the details in the engine room, like the very nice heatshielding below the exhausts. Nice detail. And nice chrome on the exhaust as well..
A possible upgrade would be some cables running on the right side from the dashboard and back. There are some details there in that area that otherwise look a little naked.
Best regards
Flemming
