Jordan Peugeot 195 Brazil GP
I recently finished my second 1/43 metal kit from BBR, this time the Jordan Peugeot 195 as driven by Rubens Barrichello during the season opener in Brazil. The colourful, somewhat incomprehensive early season livery has always appealed to me - I am not really sure why it was changed after the first two races of 1995 (maybe it did not work on TV, does somebody know?).
I was glad to find this kit on the bay and only added Tameo rain-tire replacements (used for the wet Friday practice session). The kit went together quite well - apart from the ever-present struggle with the suspension - and I was really surprised by how well the decals went on (apart from the tire markings, for which you still see the film). I masked and painted most of the colors yet found that the decals were actually helping to get a sharp distinction between the colours.
Whilst the small scale can be fiddly these BBR kits are really good, nice casting and fun to get cars that are hard to find in other scales. Together with the Ligier from the same year/GP I can now call it a collection Next of the '95 midfielders that I have waiting is a McLaren MP4/10 or a Sauber C14, whilst I remain on the hunt for other '95 kits.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice, I like this look but thought the later scheme was more attractive. Very nice build.

Really nice build. It was a shame that Jordan struggled in the mid-90s but they were distinctive. I like the sets on it, too, good touch.

Re: Jordan Peugeot 195 Brazil GP
Nice build, and great job on the decals. One bit of information to pass along - Tameo makes a couple of decal setting solutions, and one of them is the "nuclear option" for tires. It's called SOF 02 Extra Strong Decal Softener. After applying the tire decals, you make one quick swipe with the solution and leave it. It melts the decals into the tire rubber. You have to be really careful, because if you even think about touching the decals after applying the setting solution, you'll mess them up.

Many thanks for the kind comments!
@vekkuli - larger pictures seem to be a challenge and I am quite miserable with photo uploading sites...
@Kirk - sent you a pm
@wadny - thanks for the tip, I'll try this next time (and order a replacement decal set in case I get it wrong...)
