It is really a beautiful model of FW19. The finish looks very good.
I know the early Revell F1 kits are difficult. I have this same kit still sitting in the box.
What decal did you use, Revell's or other's?

Re: Williams FW19 (1:24 Revell)
I remember purchasing that kit at one of the early '90s Vancouver CART races - as everything Jacques V. was so very popular, and was probably the first kit of an F1 car of his ever done...at least that was in plastic. My kit is still in the cellophane and will probably stay there for a permanent stash pile item - and only because I like the way they put the photos on the box (the artwork was unique and fits with the typical IndyCar / CART kits box sizes - so it stacks up nice with those kits that I probably will never build - but look good on the shelf, whew!)
Anyway, You have much more patience than me to do such a nice job on that 1/24 scale kit from hell.
I am trying to save all my precious building time to my stash of MFH and Tamiya 1/12 scale kits...
One day, and maybe soon, I will be doing a blow out sale with all my 1/43, 1/24, 1/20 (Maybe), and kits that I don't have the patience for - thanx to the knowledge that you all on F1M have shared - the horror stories, and the good stuff.
Thanx, Querque

Add my two thumbs up to the chorus of a great build of a lacklustre kit.
I, too, would like to know what tobacco decals you used? Much better livery than the "?" and "Hype" decals Revell provided.

Re: Williams FW19 (1:24 Revell)
Well done. Not the easiest of kits but an excellent result.

Re: Williams FW19 (1:24 Revell)
Thank you
Revell provides only normal Decals for the tires but would never stick to that soft material.
Also, the tires have raised Goodyear letters. That looks horrible and doesn't make it easier with the decals.
That's why I decided to make resin copies.
The main issue was that the decals don't law down at all. So for most of them I used clear paint and a brush to "glue" them in place.
For the tobacco decals I used this sheet from museum collection

The kit tires aren't wrong but there are a few thing I don't like.Indy1977TX wrote: So what did you correct with the tires?

Most of the decals are the original kit decals.Grypham wrote: I, too, would like to know what tobacco decals you used? Much better livery than the "?" and "Hype" decals Revell provided.
