Yes, decals from Revell kits in the 90's are big problems. They look beautiful but like a sheet of plastic. I have to use similar method to glue them down and a lot of use of a heat to make them conform.

Fantastic result, the Revell's kits from this era was not good. Not my scale but I have in my to do pile, seen your give me push to assembly mine. Thanks for sharing.
