Tamiya Lotus 79 Type 78 1/20
Just finished the Tamiya Lotus JPS 79 1/20 scale. Build went very well, it's a beautiful kit. Used Tamiya's photo etch kit as well. Primer was Gravity Colors Spain as well as the black and 2k clearcoat. Decals are by Indycals. Interior paints were mostly Tamiya acrylics except for the chrome parts which were Zero Paints chrome. On to the next....

This is fantastic! The build of the engine is very clean. Do you have to clear coat the zero paints metal colour? If so does the finish dull much with 2k?

Thank you. Yes you do need to clear coat the chrome. I used Zero clear lacquer which doesn’t take away the metallic effect too muchTyrone wrote:This is fantastic! The build of the engine is very clean. Do you have to clear coat the zero paints metal colour? If so does the finish dull much with 2k?

Looks very very good. Did you encounter any problems with decals? Do they have black surroundings?

Thank you. Not really, the decals were great. Most of them have a black background yes. I used Solvaset on them. I did create my own problem by placing a marking in the wrong spot then clear coating over it but thanks to Indycals oops protection i had a new set of decals a few days later.
