Tamiya 1/20 Tyrrell P34 (1976)
Hi everyone,
Here is my latest finished project. It is Tamiya’s 1/20 Tyrrell P34.
Details added include full radiator and oil cooler plumbing in accordance to some Giorgio Piola illustrations. I also added some brake wiring and mesh over the intake trumpets. I didn’t have the kit decals, so I used a set from Studio27.
Paint for the body was Tamiya TS15 Blue. I first painted the body with the rattle can but had issues with coverage. I ended up decanting the paint and shooting it through the airbrush and the finish was much better. The mechanical bits are all Tamiya acrylics, with the exception of the monocoque being finished with Tamiya LP lacquers. Great stuff!
Since the engine bay was open, I decided to make this one race-weathered. There’s something about a grimy engine bay I just love.
Thanks for looking!
Jake

Weathering is always a great way to add personality to a build - great job!

I never get tired of seeing the P34, and the weathering looks great, not overdone

Nice work. Is rare to see weathered Formula 1 models.
