Great build! I also think the blue decals that come with the kit are too bright, so seeing the result I think your decision of masking and painting the blue was the right choice.

Just one question, I think the kit comes without helmet visor, but in the pictures it looks like the driver figure has a visor. How did you make it? I'm trying to make a helmet visor using clear plastic but I'm finding some difficulties bending it.

Back when I made this kit I made the Boutsen figure too. I used some old 35mm film negative to make the visor. Very thin so it bent to shape and it was dark like Boutsens tinted visor. Worked well, for clear visors I have some old clear plastic from overhead projector sheets that works well.

I used a very thin clear plastic film for helmet visor , and paint the underneath with black

Looks great, and def the right direction to mask and paint it the right color blue. Excellent job too - difficult paint job.

Did you use a stencil on the tires??
