Thanks for your interest and nice comments !
Regarding the question about the materials of the display case, the main base (with the "A") is made of Aluminium. The second base above has a wooden (bleach) core and a circumferential cover also made of Aluminium profiles.
Best regards,
Uli

I saw the real thing with Donohue at the wheel at Riverside in 1973. We were at the esses and it always whooshed by all on its own. Never got this close tho'.
That is a beautiful build and presentation.
Cheers,
Greg

After seeing the inspiration for this at the Colors of Speed exhibit in the Porsche Museum last weekend, I’d bet money that the Porsche guys ask Uli to have this on display at the Museum. Just sayin’. It’s that good. And they’re that smart.

The model is just beautiful. The details are impeccable. The display just pushes this one over the top. I saw the display and started thinking how other cars would look good with the same treatment.
So why the change from 1200ps to 1100ps? Without that it would have been hard to tell the 1:1 from the 1:18!

Re: MFH 917/30-003 1:12 "Museums Edition"
thx, Jordan, you've rightly spotted the difference (1200PS vs 1100PS). Frankly speaking, I've been waiting for this question ... and here is the answer: I've taken the picture with the "1200PS" at the 1st day, when the 917 Special Exhibition has opened. The Porsche guys have then detected the inconsistency between what has been stated on the backside of the display vs. the explanation panels on the floor. When I've visited the Porsche Museum again a couple of days later, the display did show the 1100PS on the backside wall as well (see pic below), therefore the model display is indeed consistent with the real thing
