1/20 scale rain tire options
1/20 scale rain tire options
I'm a bit of a lurker here, but its time for a question.
I'm currently working on a 1/20th scale MP4-8 and looking for rain tires. Seems to either be a difficult item to find, or an item that is going to break the bank.
So are there options outside of MFH brand, or am I stuck spending an arm and a leg? Is there anyone here that might have some for sale?

I recently completed that same kit, with rain tyres: https://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30902
I used Icon Automotive Miniatures tyres for that car.
You can find them here: https://www.iconautomotiveminiatures.com/

More Icon rain tires. I hope you can zoom this photo to see the tires better, just don't zoom TOO close

Re: 1/20 scale rain tire options
I did not sand them. Since there was no mold line like the Tamiya tires, I didn't want to take the chance of messing them up. This is how they look straight out of the package. I have a set from him that are made for the Williams FW-07 and the Ligier JS11.

Gotcha! I was thinking of wanting to sand mine down a bit to show a little wear as the tires would have been worn by the end of the last stint.tubegenius wrote:I did not sand them. I'll take a look when mine arrive and proceed from there. I guess having a wet look isn't a bad thing since they were wet. haha

When you order, make sure you pick the right ones! Those are the ‘1993 Wingfoot Asym. Rain Conversion Tires - Ayrton Senna "Lap of the Gods"’.

Do you need any help ordering? I have not seen any new orders. My website email has been acting up so not sure if everything is working correctly.tehSAC wrote: Gonna have to order these. Are these sandable?
As for sanding. They are sandable but they are tuff so don't sand really easy. I would suggest starting with a coarse grit and work your way to a smoother grit for the final result.
