Model Club in Chicago for donation of models

Post by jaydar »

Does anyone know of a model club on the south side of Chicago or there abouts??

I am moving soon in connection with my retirement. I have a considerable number of airplane, boat and car models to give away along with detail sets for many of them. BTW, airplanes are all 1/48, boats are 1/700 and the cars are 1/24 or 1/25.

Many will also have reference books.

There is no cost but it must be all or nothing with a pick up at my home.

Thanks so much.

Joe.

I have seen during White Sox and/or Cubs games, ads for Veterans using models as therapy, you may look into any Veterans projects in the Chicago area. I bet they'd take them off your hands in a heartbeat.

I don't remember for sure, but I thought there was a post about two years ago about a Veterans facility in the Chicago area that welcomed model kit donations.

Edit: Bossy, that must have been your post I was thinking of. If anyone finds any info regarding this facility, please post contact information. I'd like to donate also.

Yes, it probably was. I found that post and the phone number given was 888-567-VETS. That was approaching 3 years ago, but it's worth a shot.
