Hi all,
Has anyone bought and studied this book?
https://www.amazon.com/Lotus-72-1970-Fo ... way&sr=8-2
How does it compare to Michael Oliver's book?
Thanks!

I saw briefly the book at Retromobile. I did NOT buy it. The book was NOT was I was hoping for.
The much better alternative at Retromobile - Gulf Porsche 917 - ended "by mistake" in my plastic bag. EUR 145!!!!!

I've had the Lotus book on order from Amazon since March, and still haven't received it: they keep sending apologies. I don't believe it's been issued yet.

I cannot comment on the Amazon book, but I do recommend the Haynes Lotus 72 manual.
There's also a few MFH Joe Honda books on the Lotus 72, however the latter series of books can be a little "hit-and-miss" in terms in terms of decent close-up shots which we modellers need.
Cheers, Paul

The Pete Lyons book will be published in August. I don't expect it to surpass the book by Michael Oliver but Pete Lyons was a reporter for Autosport magazine during the early seventies and his Grand Prix reports are still the best I have ever read. So it might be a thrilling read. The book claims to have pictures of every 72 at every Grand Prix.

Harm, based on what you have said, I would venture to guess that this book will be great!- And here is why.h.kruithof wrote:The Pete Lyons book will be published in August. Simply said above - Mr. Lyons is a master writer. Period. Even if his book turns out not having all the pics we are looking for, I'm sure his words will make up for it.
I will certainly put an order in with Amazon, as I trust it will be worth it (thanx for the 'heads up!).
When I do in fact get the publication, I will give you all a True review.
Thanx, Kirk (Querque, AKA Indygp2001)
