Thick paint seams

Post by bossy122 »

I was wondering if anyone has a good trick for smoothing out thick paint seams left after masking? I wasn't able to remove the tape to allow the paint to level off on its own and was left with a visible seam. I tried sanding with 600 up but that didn't do the finish any favors. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, if you can't polish the paint after sanding the weapon of choice would be a layer of clear. That would protect any decals as well.

You won't really be able to totally eradicate any masking step. I've used micro-mesh before to knock the step down and then a few layers of clear to level everything up afterwards.
