Here is a link to a mp4/5b I started building while at university. I haven't finished it yet or done much lately as I have been busy. However, you might find it interesting or get some ideas. If you have any questions feel free to ask, and I'll see if I can answer.
The main problem with my kit was a bad fitting body, so you probably want to check this. I will display mine with the body off (if I ever finish) so it won't be a problem.

Get yourself a few sheets of carbon fiber decals from Hiroboy \ scale motorsport \ hoby link japan...
Also perhaps the velocity stacks for the V10 & some bare metal foil for the undertray.
Add to that some Studio27 seat belts and you should be on the right track to simple, yet detailed kit.
Try to keep it simple & even a box stock kit will look good if you thin the paint out (not gluggy) and keep glue to a minimum. You might also want to think about puttying up any gaps between pieces and the removal of mould lines.
Keep it simple, don't detail beyond your skill level and practice.. oh, and HAVE FUN & ENJOY!
