312B

Post by garymc »

Started my next 1/12 project today a tamiya 312B and spent the whole day on trying different materials for the seat.I finaly found something I think will work so I will put it to eveyones opinion,I started with a thin piece of card stock and cut strips then glued them in place leaving a small gap then coated with toilet paper and spayed with red paint then used sceen wire placed at a 45 degree angel and then sprayed black paint to give the pattern close to pictures I have.Next I will make templates to cut out the material and glue in place. So everyone tell me if you think it looks right before i go on.

Thanks,Gary

Yeah, agree with Daniel. This looks spot on to me - especially the section in the middle where the pattern is most clearly defined.

this really looks fantastic, but how will you be dealing with the seatbelts? Is the material strong enough to make holes without tearing it to pieces? I don't think you want to use the belts originaly supplied with the kit :)
