WIP HONDA RA107

Post by Manu »

Hi guys ! I'm not forgetting the WIP of the ligier, i have to take pictures of the completed car and also take pictures of the finished FW22. BUT Now it's time to start the RA107 WIP. Get the black paint and the microsol and set ready !!!!! Let's start this trip around the planet :)

Here's the Decal sheet. Very nicely printed, no carrting film or excess,it looks like a tissue. Every panel of the car is decomposed as a decal. I thought the car was more blue , as the purple and green are quite important. Also the honda logo is given as a chrome decal.Cool !

Image

The body , engraving is really good on it, much better than the MP4/22.

The front and rear wing assembled. here i glued lightly one flap on the gear box and tape the gearbox to the body, then glued the rear wing parts, and remove the flap on the gear box.I'll have to paint this in black and i'll add some dark carbon decal from renaissance. It won't break the black aspect of the car but will add some shades ;)

Then the prepared body, sanded, chimneys addes, holes drilled. Just a blank fit ;) looks good. This car looks more like a Mclaren than i thought around he nose area.

Image

Now let's start the fun !
The front wing has been primered then painted glossy black

Image

Then the first decal is applied. I was scare a bit at the beginning and in fact...it fits incredibly well, react good with the microsol and set so....big qmile on my face !

Image

The second one now and some carbon on the lower flaps hard to see, sorry for that

Now the body is primered and painted black, TS14 from tamiya.i now understand the fact on sanding the whole body before painting.....it's smooth !!!!!

Image

and after a second wet TS14 shot, first decal applied. The blue on the winglet is a reflect ;

Image

Starting real good ! The decal works like a charm. I'm now at half the car. But pics tomorrow ;)

Hope you'll like it , I'll try to update very often. And pis from the ligier and the FW22 about to come. And i'm working alo on the revell R8, the Arta garaiya fom fujimi and a jordan 195 from BBR . As one is drying, i work on another one. That's my speed secret ;)

Bye for now !!! Any comments and questions welcomed of course.

Is it time to sleep or to order a RA107 kit ? Maybe it is more reasonable to take decision with your next pictures!

Looks great really nice work. One question what color are you using on the body of the R8 I have one yet to build?

Looks great so far Manu! I can't wait to see the rest of the decals go on.
It looks like the transition from the black on the "edge of the world" decals blends in well to the black paint on the cowling. I hope that made sense... It was one of the things I was concerned about for when I tackle this kit later.
