Okay well the clear has gone on and the kit is being put away for a few days so the clear can get nice and hard.
I will be working on getting the wheels done and the undertray covered in CF this week and after a few other smaller parts the kit will be ready for final assembly.
I'm very proud of the engine cover with the correct vents for the China race after all of the work to get them filled in and cleaned up the end result is very satisfying for me!
Any suggestions as to how long to let the Urethane clear sit before I buff out a few specs of dust?
Thanks for looking.

mfh wip...
..absolutly great wip! out of interest what paint and clearcoat did you use? did you paint the metalwork along with the body with etch primer? or paint seperately and stick aero bits on after red basecoat? only asking as i'm in two minds on my build...love the kit though, as my first MM i'm well chuffed with it.very inspirational looking at this mind you!

RE: mfh wip...
old-fan
I used zero paints and loved them, the clear is Dupont Urethane clear, this was my first time using the stuff and I love it.
You have to do very thin layers and build up but you can get a very thin clear layer and get the best looking finish.
I used etch primer on everything but everything was done separately.
With MM kits I organize the kit into smaller models basically (Body/Engine/Wings/Suspension etc).
The aero bits were painted separate from the body/cowling to make it easy to airbrush. That being said there were parts that were glued to the body/cowling first so I could putty and clean up before the basecoat was painted.
Right now the hardest thing for me is that the clear filled in all of my suspension holes. I am going to try and re drill them all without messing up the paint!
I can just see myself messing things up now!
Thanks for the comments everyone and I will be working on the CF decals on the undertray all week...not looking forward to it.
