Re: McLaren M7B Heller 1:24 South Africa GP
And now the promised pictures ...
The nose is so far assembled and filled.
The Naca-Duct was introduced and also filled.
The front radiator has been redesigned just like the rear one so that the mesh can be attached better here as well.
I made new containers for clutch and brake.
The other parts of the kit have all been sanded and filled so that everything is ready for primer and painting.
I am currently checking the details of the cables and also checking which colors I use.
Therefore it is currently important to view as many pictures as possible (preferably in color: D).
Thanks again for the help and the pictures!

Ok, hard to find any timeperiod stuff from this race in colour, but here is what i found, sorry but some are realy small. And for the question on the radiator piping, you can see that the pipe routes to the inside of the chassis on the pic where the brake is shown.steinietrabi wrote: I am currently checking the details of the cables and also checking which colors I use.

Jeff I didn't want to do that much, but I keep finding points that I don't like. I definitely want to build an "open nose" version and so there are still a few things to do...

Re: McLaren M7B Heller 1:24 South Africa GP
So once again a small update, even if due to other projects (3D printing / scratchbuilding of Lotus 99T brakes and hose fittings) and the beautiful weather it didn't go on in giant steps.
I looked at the front wall and fitted the containers there.
I set the position of the containers down and inserted the hole for the handlebar.
I removed the curve at the top - you can still see it in it on some pictures.
In the upper part of the chassis I added the necessary holes on the front.
I also did a first assembly test of the front unit.
The handlebar can now also be pushed in. Let's see how I solve it, so that maybe later the upper part of the chassis can be removed.
I also glued the tank on the side and thus connected it to the lower part of the chassis.
I have to fill a few more holes here, the accuracy of fit is not really the best.
I don't know exactly what to do with the openings on the front. I haven't found any real reference material here !!!
I made the dashboard a lot thinner even though I'm still thinking about making it entirely on metal and only leaving the lower part as a frame.
I also 3D printed the circular displays, because the molded elements didn't look really nice and had a huge frame. I'm still looking for decals, but I'm sure I'll find something here.
I also looked at the brakes again. I am not sure which version it will be, as there are still contradicting images. But I also like the version very much!
Because one of the mirrors was damaged - these are molded onto the front edge and of course broken out at this point, I had to redo these too.
