Tonight I started with a little hand brushing on the body with Vallejo Flat Red. Paint is still a bit wet in these photos, it should flatten overnight. Really taking my time with this. Most of the figure won’t be seen in the finished kit but I’m having too much fun with this. :)

Hello,

Nice project, the MP4/8 is one of most beautiful F1.

as you write I did 3 helmets, for the 1993 season you have to choose the Shoei X4, I can’t remember for the MP4/8, but try before the final assembly if it’s necessary to cut a bit the feet.

here are some pictures, for the European GP you have to cut the 4 air intakes to the top of the helmet.

and some of what I did whit the MP4/7

Franck, thanks for the wonderful photos!

I will definitely be using these as a guide to completing this figure.

Franck, have you ever considered selling pre-painted versions of your figures? I like to have driver figures in many of my F-1 builds, but if they are not well done it detracts from the overall presentation. I like to do all my own painting, but would gladly defer to your skill in figure painting. Just a thought.

you’re welcome, I’m always happy to see someone to built some of what I produce.

many thanks for the comment, I’d like to propose some figures painted, I though about that, just I don’t know if I can have enough time at the moment, it’s a good idea anyway…may be I’ll consider this after the summer holydays, it will depend of my new projects.

I know the feet will never been seen or maybe even be removed to fit into the finished model, but I had a little time to myself between video conferences and did this. Now I know there is a ton of clean up still so don't judge too much.

So I really wasn't happy with the way things were turning out with the figure. So I sat the pieces in some simple green for 24 hours and brushed off the old paint. The flag I'm happy with so far, but a bit too glossy for sure, so once its finished I will top coat with a matte clear.
