it might depend on the year and team. I can tell you it started (1985) with bridgestone...maus wrote:Cool project !
But didn`t the cars in European F3000 run on Avon tyres ?

According to Wikipedia, tire standardization started in 1986 to Avon. A picture of McNish's DAMS crashed at Donington in 1990 clearly showed Avon was the tire manufacturer. The 1991 Paul Stewart Racing Lola T90-50 F3000 Hasegawa kit has the Avon tire decals.

I always use Gunze's black primer 1500 in a spray. It unifies the surface nicely and makes a good base for other colors.JamesB wrote:great!
may I ask why you used a black primer first?

Yes, you are right. There should be Avon not Bridgestone. My fault. I was quick and didn't look at the documents. So I removed the decals from the tires. Unfortunately, the decal set does not include Avon, so the wheels will be clean.JamesB wrote:it might depend on the year and team. Today decals. Otherwise repaired red bar on the front. The original was too narrow. Now let it dry until morning and rush to clear coat tomorrow. It is interesting how the red color differs in each photo. But in fact it is God.

Shouldn't it be RAL3024 Flourescent Red for that year? I'm pretty sure all M@r!b*r* Sponsored racing cars (F1, F3000, F3, Group C etc.) had it as a standardised colour from the early '80's at the latest (and quite possibly before that).Hanz.77 wrote:On Tuesday the package from Mr. Paint and Malboro 1990, specially mixed for this transkit.
If the color matches, it is considered to be listed in the Mr. Paint.
Big thanks to René Molnár for meeting the needs of the authors.
Thank you.
At my request, Mr. Paint produced this for my MP4/6, and I believe it's now in their range. The colour match was pretty much perfect for M@r!b*r* Orange, but the paint was so thin that it would have taken litres of the stuff to cover a 1:12 car.

Absolutely correct! I you have ever seen a 70s/80s/90s car/motorcycle (I have seen them all...) in "real life" you know they were all RAL3024 fluo orange...
