Brabham BT52B - Beemax
Afternoon all.
Its been a while since i built anything. Mrs Kimi bought me this for christmas so its about time we got cracking.
first impressions having a nosey around the box / sprues and i'm impressed. Never built a Beemax kit and obviously expected to see some issues. I do like the separate glossy colour sheet showing where decals / markings go.
I'll be building OOB as i'm completely useless at detailing and need to sort some glasses out (longsighted so photo-etching is out of the question at the minute)
I've primed all the sprues. Will upload pics of that later but first things first, does anyone have a link to some high res photos of this car? Especially the engine. Please!
Will be a slow burner but hopefully of interest to someone
edit: Also, tempted to do the Senna test version

Re: Brabham BT52B - Beemax
I am happy if I can help. I have been given more help in this forum.
Have some MFH in stock, among others the BT52B. Are not easy to build but a challenge.
Looking forward to the first pictures of Brabham.

Hi Kimi,
Good luck with the project I have one in my stash that I bought from Telford in November.
Haynes do the manual book which is worth the money some great photos for about £6.
What blue paint are you going to use?
I bought the two blues recommended in the kit Mr. Color that they recommended to mix although the darker blue looks pretty spot on to me.
Have seen the Monaco version built by a fellow Les Garagistes and it builds to a nice car!

Re: Brabham BT52B - Beemax
ok apologies for the lack of updates, given everything thats going on i've managed to crack on with this build but have forgotten to take detailed WIP pics, below is where i'm upto
action stations
body and engine. The kit itself goes together relatively well, no fitting issues to speak of. I was unsure if the bodyshell should be cut as the instructions didnt highlight it so i left it as one piece.
I used Mr Color #5 Blue Gloss. Think its a tad to bright
I say the kit went together well, the only issue i had was both front uprights not wanting to sit in the lower wishbones so resorted to 5 minutes of tweezer action
as you can see the decals have started going on, and quite honestly the white surprised me there was no bleed through of the blue underneath. The front wing looks exceptionally bubbly there for some reason.
more decals on
Its pretty much finished I just need to do the rear wing now and it'll be complete. As a bonus pic, I've managed to finish this as well. As mentioned up thread i'm useless with an airbrush so painted the kit, the blues dont match however in my display case you wont be able to notice. You'll also notice a Senna without arms. I have no idea where they are
all comments / criticism welcome
