Really nice pic of your other work getting ready for coverings with tissue paper or film I guess?

Continued from last post.
Glued on, thinned at the front edge as much as possible, then the remaining step faired with filler.
IMG_5815.JPG
During the first 4 races this joint was either left open or covered with blue tape, from Jarama (5th GP round) it had a blister fairing
1979 03 03 Kyalami South Africa 18 - Copy.jpg
1979 Kyalami – (3rd round)
IMG_5808.JPG
The end of the wishbones were drilled to accept RB Motion rod ends. The front and rear edges of wishbone arms were square, so rounded off – even though you can’t really see it here…….
IMG_5796.JPG
Both ends drilled and rod ends in place
IMG_5797.JPG
Brackets made as a pair and checked for fit with the rod end
IMG_5799.JPG
Brackets cut to size and fitted in to a slot cut in the tub. To fix in place a dowel pin will be fitted from the top – there should be just enough room to get it in with tweezers!

Thanks Malc, really like your Moth, very cool!
I built the Guillows SE5 a while back, and covere it with the tissue paper!
I will have to get out the attic and give it a bit of resto!
It was the elastic wind up prop type with pilot figure which I painted!
The decals or stickers have peeled off so I guess will need to repaint over with the airbrush.
I have the Ligier finished nice kit but used parts from the Tamiya Walter Wolf WR1 and bought the build up from Mario Covalski modeler site.
Happy Modelling

I had such a god time reviewing all the thread. Dammit it´s incredible how, with the pandemic, some things did reset in our heads!
There´s so much good stuff here.
I imagine, now you have devoted so much effort into it, you don´t want to rush it to the end. But honestly I see you are really close to the finish line.
One thing that caught my attention is some comments on the exhausts. For instance, Modelbautony´s exhausts are really nice (BTW great job too!! :D ) but I´d say these are inspired on the ´80 version of the car. Those were more similar to the FW07´s, as they were inside the sidepods. So they leave more room underneath and stand a bit higher, which is impossible with the Heller cover. As I commented some times, ´80 version has the upper "deck" of the sidepods sitting higher too.
Anyway, let´s encourage MAlc to keep going with this one!!! :D

Thanks James!
I ran in to problems with the side pods, the bottom edge was warped badly, I tried to improve it by heating - and made it much worse..............

PS I found a couple of pictures I had not posted of the finished seat

I also found a picture of the complete rear assembly, (with JamesB's superb new tyres!) which just needs painting and all the small details adding

If I find any more I will add them.

You mean the side panels? Because these may be easily replaced with polistyrene sheet.
Oh yes, the more times I try the heating trick the more convinced NOT to use it anymore!
Oh great pics!

Hi James, I mean the floor of the side pod, here they are before I started to mess with them, now one is much worse

My last plan was to cut the damaged/warped floor out and replace it with styrene sheet.
