Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
They are among the best Seatbelts I've seen done, you've captured the natural just thrown down look perfectly and that is very difficult to do. I am massively impressed by your build, it will be something special when it's finished.
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Thank you guys for nice commends , appriciate it!
It`s still a long way to go, but some parts are close to be done and i can move on to paint job of bodywork and the engine.
Many thx to JayKay and Seema at this point for helping by realizing this project!
Yes i use Top Studio etched rivets and bolt heads for this build, mainly in sizes between 0,6- 0,9mm. Normaly i go for real bolts and rivets from T2M, but this time i decided to use the etched ones as they are much cheaper then real bolts and rivets and i need a lot. Some are from Scale Motorsport too, still using a lot of aftermarket products on this build to upgrade it a bit, brass connectors and resin ones from Top Studio for wiring are used too.LeonN wrote:Great skills and brilliant work.
Sorry, if you already answered this question, but what size rivets, nuts and bolt are you using working in 1/20 F1 car and are they from Top Studio?
Thanks
Many Thanks Daveyman!daveyman wrote:They are among the best Seatbelts I've seen done, you've captured the natural just thrown down look perfectly and that is very difficult to do. I am massively impressed by your build, it will be something special when it's finished.

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Thanks, gp-models
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
With checking references i found this picture which is described as Italian GP 87, but i don`t know if this is for sure. Does anyone know where this pic was taken?
I don`t know cause the rear wing is different to other Italian GP pics i have, this is a small one without the lower wing element and the rear cowling is without the nick on the back.
These ones are for sure Italian GP, watch the differences.

Anyone an idea where the first picture might be taken?

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
The first picture with Aryton stood by the car is from Imola, round 3.
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Thanks for reply Daveyman, this is confusing me a lot as the second and third pic plus the one in the link are from Imola too, but showing a different rear wing and cowling. Did they switch these parts in practice? Don`t know why there are different set ups at one race, realy confusing!

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Imola was the second race ( San Marino GP ). Nakajima used the Imola wing seen on Senna's car plus an extra beam wing ( just to add to the confusion
The setup with the beam wing is from Monza ( Italian GP ).

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
I think i have it now!
Thank you Joachim, it was realy confusing with the San Marino GP and Italian GP! With San Marino as second race, the kit covers only this version, Italian GP was round 11 i think, new cowling with the nick an the back on top, the larger side plates on the front wing etc. I hope i`m right now. ^^

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
I think the first picture is Imola, all the rest are from Monza.
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Yes it must be Imola, the big rear wing come up at a later point in this season, i struggeld mainly with sorting out Imola and Monza as Italian GP.
