What about the decals? Are you going to print them yourself?

Re: 1988 Rial ARC1
I just got an idea:
Gustav Brunners next car following the Rial ARC1 was the Zakspeed ZK891 which is also available in 1/24.
Depending on how accurate you want to be with the Rial there might be a few parts in that kit that might be useful too.

Brilliant!!! Probably the Rial 88 is closer to the Zak than it is to the Ferrari!Steffen_T wrote:I just got an idea:

Re: 1988 Rial ARC1
I am designing some decals in photoshop, but I do not yet know about printing. I may need to ask a favor of a fellow forum member for that.Corpsegrinder wrote:What about the decals? Are you going to print them yourself?
Thank you - I took a look at the Hasegawa kit but decided to go with the Protar Ferrari instead. The monocoque will need less modification. The rear end from the Hasegawa kit would definitely be more accurate than the Modeler's kit I'm using, but I don't trust myself to be able to mate a kit, rear end, and monocoque from 3 kits properly. I barely trust myself to do the work I've got now!Steffen_T wrote:I just got an idea:

At least you may count on me for the decals. Forget drawing, I will
Print, too...
Loos lie an afternoon's work.
Hmmm, anybody knows if this one exists at 1/20th already?

Re: 1988 Rial ARC1
I still have a scan of the 1/43 Tameo decals (Monaco & San Marino IIRC). If that would be of any help?

James - that would be a huge help, thank you! I'd be happy to send you what I have so far if it helps.JamesB wrote:At least you may count on me for the decals. Forget drawing, I will

Re: 1988 Rial ARC1
Hi folks,
Work is moving slowly on this, but I haven't quit on the Rial.
I've mated the front bodywork to the cockpit tub, and then filled in the area where the sidepods were removed. I've also got the rear suspension together. I would've rather done this later, but since this is the engine/gearbox of a different kit and I need the suspension as a reference point for some of the bodywork I need to scratchbuild. I've also got the floor sanded nicely and will get that painted soon. Does anyone know if the floor was bare carbon? I can't tell from my reference photos.
I took the original sidepods and cut them down to the Rial's height. I will take some plastic card and scratch the rest of the sidepod.
More to come soon!
