Since a paperclip is over scale you might try a piece of straight pin;it's much thinner.

Samll update:
I did some more work on the floor. Heat shields are done sans the exhaust. I'm saving the arches of the diffuser for last... Luckily I have a spare to make templates from.
Anybody have any tips/tricks for drilling out the exhaust ports in the floor other than very carefully? I haven't decided on how I'm going to tackle this part yet...
Also finished up the side pods. I cut some tissue paper overlays for the tops of them to get some texture, then painted them German Grey. It's a really subtle effect in real life and in the photos. I think it looks pretty good.
I'm anticipating a big mail call this Saturday and with SXSW being canned am hoping to get some quality build time in.
Thanks for looking, comments suggestions welcome as always.

Really nice work, I love the shape of the MP4/5b, the size doesn't matter.

Today was a lawn day (weird for a Wednesday....) but I did manage to get my electronics re-done. Also got the fire tank finished. Bit of touch up left still but I like the lighter grey on the center box. I thought about separating the three but haven't made up my mind on that though.
