1/12th Porsche 935 K3 Apple Car
The start of Christian's wonderful trans kit of the 935 Kremer K3. I will be doing the 1980 Apple car. During the late 70's early 80's I ran an imported auto parts store in the SF Bay Area. Garretson Enterprises was one of my customers. I got to visit the shop weekly and observed some great 935 variants being built, including this one.
The tires are resin painted with Tamiya tire black. The wheel discs are something I had in the spare parts bin.
They were made by Henry Gonzales of California Modeling Works. He created the 1/12th 956 kit I built many years ago.

Re: 1/12th Porsche 935 K3 Apple Car
Been working a lot on the Apple K3. The body prep took a long time. I opened up the front end and the side vents. Then I noticed pictures of the Apple car and the side vents are much smaller. Oh well, I will leave them as is. I like them like that and I am building this for myself, not a museum. I had to open up the area where the tail lamp assembly goes. It would not have fit otherwise and it is an important part of the rear look. The car is painted and the trim is blacked. Next comes the decals which are going to be a challenge. Guess that is why I love this. Keeps my mind young.

Looks great. Really looking forward to the moment decals will go on.
Is chassis the standard one from Tamiya 934 or 935 kit ? Are wheel from 935 as well ?

Dave,
Looking good love this version you are building.
I have True scale miniatures 1/18 scale die-cast and resin car.
Does anyone have the rubber tires for this model?
I would quite like a trans kit but the solid resin tires kinda put me off!
Can't wait to see you work your magic!
Keep up the good work!

You could use the standart 935 kit tires. The same like the resin ones in the kit.acer709 wrote:Dave,

Because of the weight of the body, I prefer resin tires. Painted with Tamiya black rubber spray, they look like rubber.
