Good evening from Germany,

the motor is almost finished.. and what should I say.. it was a mess... lot of fitting problems and without sanding the cowling there is no chance to place the motor under the cowling.. but in the end the motor looks good at least from my perspective..
enough words here are the pics

It does look great ! I see it has quite a bit in common with engine in MP4/6.
Looking forward to more progress. Love MP4/5B

Looking good indeed!
Did you sand only on the cowling or also on the engine itself?

good morning,

@ lezdep: thx for the nice comment
@ jaykay: Mostly the cowling because the block is too high. Further I sanded the part between the left and the right part of the motor block, because the fitting of the motor parts is very bad. But you must sanding the block a bit on the inner side also, because the cylinder heads doesn't fit, they bounce heavy :)

Hello modelers,

it´s been a while... :) but the MP4/5b is still on the bench. It was a lot of work to do, because the quality is not comparable to the MP4/6 from Tamiya and the Top Studio Set, so there was a lot of scratching because the original parts were partly worse (especially cockpit). But with a little bit effort you can achieve great results. I got also some problems with the stamped decals in the kit, after clear coating (maybe it was too heavy) you can't see the structure of the carbon, and the carbon was wrong for this period. So the first time I brushed the correct pattern of the monocoque panels... it was like painting a tank with camouflage, because in real you can see so many pictures, it changes from brown to gold, from gold to red and from red to blue... but enough words from myself, here are the pics.

I tried to imitate the realistic colors of the composite brakes by hand. I don't know how it looks in real but i like it

Really beautiful work. I have looked at this thread everyday for the last few days, there is so much to see. That engine is jewelry and the cockpit is extremely well done.
