Hi guys this is a build i have been working on for a little while for a group on fb.
the box
i also have the detail set to complete it with
the etch included is quite comprehensive
the carbon included covers most areas of the car
the naughty decals were a must for this build. the ones that were included from where i got the detail set from were not full covering
a quick mock up of all the major parts.
the engine was the first parts glued,
the moulded in parts on the floor were sanded off and replaced with the etch parts
the same was done on the exhaust outlets
finally for today the access hatch on the top of the monocoque was sanded off and replaced with the etch
many thanks for looking

I've always believed that you should never, ever give up and you should always keep fighting, even when there's only a slightest chance.

Good start Shaun,
I have the same kit, but without the detail set, so I look forward to following your build.
Which build is your priority the MP4/2 or sf-71h?

Bit of both if i'm honest tyrone. the SF71H still needs so much work before i get to painting but i have ordered some silver decal sheet as ledzep has been kind enough to scan the dtm kit version so i can mock up the silver lines from that and modify them to fit.
Shaun.
Re: Aoshima/Beemax Mclaren MP4/2
So it's about time for a build update.
the main body parts have had grey primer sprayed to find the bad spots.
the upper part of the under body has had primer and semigloss black sprayed.
the radiator ducts have also been painted.
the bigger radiator has had the etch face glued on and it has also been sprayed up with black. the actual face will have some work don to make it look a little used
the rear radiator/inter-coolers have been painted in silver with a light dusting of alclad chrome
the exhausts have been painted up with alclad paints
the engine has also had a coat of paint, tamiya pot colours mixed up from blacks gunmetal and a hint of gold
finally the little hose connectors included with the detail set were sprayed with tamiya clear blue.
more soon
