Thanks! Yes it is. The buttons have a raised circular edge around them that I was luckily able to paint with a #00 brush with thinned Tamiya acrylics. It's tedious and time consuming, but worth it in the end :)
The work is great, I'm assuming you do a lot of passes at the same spot to get it covered right?
Thanks! Yes, maybe two or three passes.

Time for an update! This will be a long post because I've done a lot since I last posted.

After the base coat gassed out I sprayed a coat of 2K clear before applying the decals. I'm happy that I scribed the panel lines because they would have been more of less filled in by layers of paint. I'm also happy about how the clear laid down. I'm using Splash Paints 2K clear and there's virtually no orange peel.

I then started to apply the decals. I'm using the kit decals + Scale Motorsport decals. Some of the SMS decals cracked a little but I was able to touch that up with some white/black paint.

As for the non-body stuff, I decided to use the kit seat belts which look pretty convincing. I painted the buckles with a 1mm Molotow chrome pen. The cockpit/seat assembly is complete. I also finished the engine/gearbox assembly.

I sprayed the final coat of 2K clear last night over the monocoque/engine cover and it looks perfect! There are a few specs of dust to sand out, but that's to be expected. At this point I just need to finish the floor, front/rear wings, bargeboards and the wheels. Then I can finally start putting this together!

Are the Splash clear as harmful as the Zero clear is? I'm really struggling with clear coats on models lately and I think I need to get away from the 1k series.
