1/20 Ebbro Tyrrell 002 WIP
I've just (a few weeks ago ) started a new model, Ebbro's Tyrrell 002.
So far I've started work on the engine, put together a few parts here and there, and started the body.
After much deliberation I decided to glue the body together prior to painting. I put some metal tape in for the bare aluminum body so hopefully I did a good job masking!
First layer of primer on:

Nice start - I built this a couple years ago and found it to be a very nice kit.

Today I made some more progress. I did two mist coats and one wet coat with the rattle can.
I've also been working on the transmission:

After letting the paint cure for about a week I did some wet sanding with 3200 grit stepped all the way up to 12000 grit and then finished it off with a lot of polishing.
I still have to paint the inside flat black and clean out some of the polishing residue but I think it looks pretty good. I will probably do a coat of wax to finish it up.
I also decided to add seat-belts to the seat. That meant I needed to cut holes for the belts to pass through. This was my first time trying to cut precise holes through pretty thick plastic. I went OK but I made a few mistakes and I don't think they are exactly even. I used a bit of putty to try and fill in a few of the mistakes I made.
And after painting:
Next will be trying to figure out these Tamiya seat belts.

Mostly finished the seatbelts. I still need to do some trimming, add the two bottom straps, and add some blue paint to the quick release buckle. I think next time I might use a different material for the straps, but these look better than I thought they would (aside from the trimming I still need to do).

The paint job and polishing for the body work look great.
For this era of cars, I will not add a clear coat to it. Your highly polished finish is more realistic.
