Re: My next project
This is by the way my first studio27 kit and i'm not really impresed by it.
When i compare the shape of the model with pictures of the real car a lot of areas are really off.
It's more a quickly made look a like.. A lote of rework to get the look and feel right.
I already did some before i took the pictures, (shape of the underside of monocoque and sides of the cockpit., to high and to wide).
But with some effort it will be a nice one i hope.

Re: My next project
Studio 27 are pretty infamous for highly inaccurate models, aren't they?
I always loved the Simtech cars! Great flowing lines. I wish you good luck in your build!

Re: My next project
Some rework, made the rear of the side pods more 'tapered'. And shaped the cockpit area a little more.
Thanks for looking!

Re: My next project
I will use the tyres of a Fujimi FW16, they are better looking and i think the st27 tyres are a bit undersized.

Re: My next project
Will this be a tribute to Roland Ratzenberger or will it be the David Brabham version?
Re: My next project
Wise decision to change the tyres. S27 tyres are generally or too small, or too "square" shouldered etc. Good project!

It is the Japan gp version kit, Brabham or Taki Inoue.tubegenius wrote:Will this be a tribute to Roland Ratzenberger or will it be the David Brabham version?
Thought about converting it to the early season Ratzenberger car but decal wise to much difficulties.

Re: Simtek S941 (My next project)
Hello guys,
Tonight i changed the pick up points of the lower front wish bones, i moved them higher on the chassis so they match the geometry of the real car more. They now join the upright at the heart of the wheel instead of below like how the kit was designed.
The pics of the real car illustrate what i mean.

Re: Simtek S941
Modified the suspension uprights so now the lowerarm can be attached to the center.

Re: Simtek S941
Hi guys,
Did some work on the Simtek. I made a start with adjusting the floor with some milliput so that the vertical areas match the reworked shape of the bodywork. I also testfitted the front suspension parts, it seems to work .
And i did a test with the Zero Simtek Blue, seems spot on.
Thanks for looking!
