the coils springs are made from electric copper cable and are more in scale than the Tamiya springs

The air intake is too much inclined and corresponds more to the 639. The rear angle of the 640 air intake is is more vertical and a little bit smaller compared to my solution. So it was adapted by inserting some styrene sheet.

After endless sanding sessions the surface of the main cover is smooth enough to get primed and painted.

Final coat with Gravity 50:50 Ferrari Rosso Corsa (GC 107) and Ferrari Rosso F1 (GC 210). 2K clear coat will follow, than decals and second clear coat

Magnificent work ! Very inspiring and joy to follow.

My only ask would be to let more detail about your scratch building work to get out.
I'm sure we all could learn quite a bit from your techniques. That's if you like to share, of course.

The main cowling is clear coated and decald now, but is still waiting for the final clear coat and polishing.

Looking good. You've certainly sorted the profile of the airbox OK.
