Ferrari 312 T2 1/12 "TamProtar"
Hello everyone, here's another model I finished some time ago.
I wanted to post it today as a tribute to Niki Lauda who is going through a very bad time.
An "insane" project, that is to merge together parts of the 312T Tamiya and the 312 T2 "protar", obtaining a Ferrari 312 T2 "Tamprotar".
It was a hard work to get a perfect match of the parts.
The decals are partly indycals and partly self-produced. The window is a memory of the film "Rush"
Unfortunately I lost several photos of WIP, so I'll post what is left, I hope you still like it!

Re: Ferrari 312 T2 1/12 "Tamprotar"
At first I had in mind to modify the upper part of the body of the "T ", but in the end I agreed that it was really difficult, so I managed to recover a upper body of a protar, slightly damaged on the back that I readily arranged, so I decided to create "the hybrid".
Apparently easy to do, but not really such.
We then add that the body parts of the Tamiya "T" were unsuitable for the purpose as they presented the fuel plugs in a different position with respect to the "T2" and modifying them would have been a business.
So I recreated the two pieces from the plasticard and I engraved the fuel caps on it using the kit caps as the template.

Nicely done Spiry...

Please forgive me if the answer was obvious but why was it necessary to create this hybrid? I'm assuming it was to create a specific version of the car.
