Re: Multiple WIP Jordan, Mclaren, Lotus, Peugeot & Mercedes
I've cleared zero colours using Tamiya TS13 plenty of times before, never had an issue. I always leave plenty of time, months sometimes, for the paints to dry. That may help.
Thanks for the heads up tho, appreciate your help.

Nice work on the bodywork reshape!
Looking forward to updates on all of them. Good idea with the WIP post for multiple ongoing projects.

Hi,
You have a nice "garage" there with some interesting projects going on. Looks from here that you nailed the shape on the Lotus 102, very good. I am most interested on the MP4/13 and the Jordan. Are you planning on add detail to them?
Thanks for share.

No, they are all basic builds. I just felt like doing some building that was all about the painting. I love masking so everything on the Jordan will be painted, greens blue and white. It will represent the car as it ran in the British GP. The Mclaren, I aim to paint all of the colour on that too. Should be a challenge.

Re: Multiple WIP Jordan, Mclaren, Lotus, Peugeot & Mercedes
I'm quite glad the recent little debate over lack of WIP appearing on this site took place, although I'm very relieved it's over now, Phew. It has actually made me get on and get a bit of work done.
For what little time I've spent I appear to have made fair progress. I have nearly finished decaling the body of the Lotus using the Studio 27 decals. Yes I know the spelling is incorrect on the Lamborghini badging but I can live with that. I'm very happy with how the decals have sat down and they've really brought the car to life, it was looking a bit bland in plain yellow and you can really see the alterations that I've made to the chassis clearly now.
The Peugeot has had the decals applied over the black surfaces and then, after drying, I applied a coat of Mr Top Coat semi gloss, with all of the white bodywork still masked off.
After removing the tape I am left with the black in a sem gloss finish and the white as gloss. Just the effect that I'm chasing! I'm amazed that the fluro yellow Peugeot decal on the windshield has held it's colour as well as it has given that it was applied on a black surface. This is my first time using Shunko decals and so far I'm very impressed. The next step is to clean up a couple of tiny areas of bleed thru where black has got onto the white paint and then it's decal the whole body, mask off the balck and apply Mr Top Coat gloss to the white surfaces.
The Jordan, I had painted the body white, masked the white line. Sprayed the upper body light green and then masked off the light green sections on top of the sidepod and the stripe on the front wing. I then sprayed the dark green. That then let me mask of everything above the white line and spray the blue which is where I'm at now. Very happy with how its sprayed, no bleed thru, no clean ups. Looks sharp.
I don't know when I'll get chance to progress and update again, harvest time on my farm is imminent, but I've enjoyed this little bout of building. As always, any comments or questions, fire away....

Nice progress, Davey!
Isn't that Camel Lotus livery a pleasure to look at?
Also a nice choice to build the British Grand Prix version of the Jordan. That should be the one with the Fujifilm advertising on the sidepods, right?

That's right Steffen. Fuji Film on the sidepods and the extra 7up decals on the cockpit sides.
The Camel livery looked great on that car in particular, I would ideally have made the Silverstone version of that car too, I like it better with just the large Camel logo rather than with the full livery but nevermind, I like this version too.
Thanks for the interest.
