1/20 Ferrari 553 Squalo

This is the Ferrari 553 Squalo from MG Models, a very basic kit with few parts, but suits me as I want to build it in 3 weeks for Model Expo next month. No rickety wings, aero-bits, or c/f decals, it should be straightforward.





It represents Froilan Gonzalez's car, French GP 1954.

seat painted, whitemetal exhaust burnished


body masked for the yellow nose paint TS47 Chrome Yellow, the blutack will give a 'soft' graduated line instead of hard ridge. The yellow will in turn be masked, and then the body sprayed TS8 Italian Red.

After the 553 I will get back to the 1/12 Williams FW11B WIP

Love the Squalo, but that FW11B engine is marvelous. Please get back to work on that!
